- Member of Legislative Assembly (M.L.A) of Kerala state (representing Ettumanoor Constituency), 1982 – 1987
- Achievements as MLA o Came up with the idea and instrumental in getting approval and starting of the Mahatma Gandhi (M.G.) University within the Ettumanoor constituency. This was the most remarkable achievement of his tenure. This literally sparked the economic growth of that area.
